Accessibility statement
We want this website to be usable by everyone — including the people we're here to serve, who are often older and may find many websites hard going.
Last reviewed: July 2026.
Our commitment
Most of the people who visit this site are aged 65 and over, or are their sons and daughters. We've built the site with that firmly in mind, aiming to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we've done
- Body text is set at 17–18px or larger, with generous line spacing, and you can zoom the page without anything breaking.
- We've checked colour contrast against the actual background, aiming for at least 4.5:1 on body text.
- Every link, button and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a clear gold outline showing where you are.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the gentle animations switch off.
- If your device is set to reduce transparency, the frosted-glass panels become solid.
- The site uses proper headings, labels and landmarks so that screen readers can make sense of it.
Where we may fall short
We're a small company and we check the site ourselves rather than through a formal audit, so there may be things we've missed. If any part is hard to read or use, that's a problem we want to fix — please tell us.
Tell us, and ask for another format
If you'd like any information from this site read to you, sent in large print, or explained over the phone, just ask. Call 020 8050 0095 or email team@arkandcare.co.uk and we'll help however suits you best.
