How Arkand Care collects, uses and protects the personal information you share with us — including health information about the person needing care.

Last updated: July 2026.

Who we are

Arkand Care Ltd ("Arkand", "we", "us") is the data controller for the information described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17291178, with our main office at Office 173, 1st Floor, The Type Building, Sugar House Island, 135 High Street, London E15 2TP. You can reach us on 020 8050 0095 or at team@arkandcare.co.uk.

The information we collect

When you enquire or arrange care, we may collect:

  • Your name and contact details.
  • The name of the person the care is for, and your relationship to them.
  • Information about that person's needs, circumstances and health — for example mobility, routine, or the help they're looking for. This is special-category data under UK GDPR, and we treat it with particular care.
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in your enquiry or at the home visit.

Often the person enquiring is a son or daughter giving information about a parent. If you're providing details about someone else, please only share what's needed, and let them know we hold it where you can.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, arrange and provide care, keep you updated after visits, and meet our legal and safeguarding responsibilities.

  • For general personal data, our lawful bases are your consent, our legitimate interests in responding to you and running the service, and where relevant the performance of a contract for care.
  • For special-category (health) data, we rely on your explicit consent, and — once care is arranged — the basis of the provision of health and social care under Article 9(2)(h) of the UK GDPR.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. That won't affect anything done before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we don't share it for marketing. We only share information where we genuinely need to — for example with a service provider that helps us run our email or store records securely, always under a duty of confidentiality, or where the law requires it, or to protect someone at risk of harm (see our Complaints & safeguarding page).

How long we keep it

If your enquiry doesn't lead to care, we keep it only as long as needed to deal with it and then delete it. Where we go on to provide care, we keep records for as long as we're providing it and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal obligations, then delete them securely.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at team@arkandcare.co.uk.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
