The weekly shop, a few things picked up, and prescriptions collected from the pharmacy — so nobody has to go without or make the trip in bad weather.
Simple meal preparation
A hot meal made with the toaster, microwave and air fryer. No oven, no hob, no flame — we tell you that plainly, because it's the honest scope of what we do.
Accompanied outings
A steady arm to the appointment, the shops, church, or just a walk in the fresh air. Getting out of the house is often the thing that lifts the week.
Respite sitting
Companionship-based sitting so a family carer can keep their own appointment, sleep, or simply leave the house — and come back to someone rested.

Curtains and the kettle
Curtains open, the kettle on, breakfast and the first tablets of the day set out. A calm start beats a rushed one.
Out and about
A walk to the shop, a lift to the appointment, or the washing hung out while there's a bit of sun. Company for the errands nobody likes doing alone.
Settled and tidy
The ironing done, a warm meal from the air fryer, and time to sit and talk. This is often the part of the visit that matters most.
Lamps on, doors locked
Supper, the lamps on, doors checked and locked. We let the family know how the day went before we leave.

How our pricing works
We'd rather explain the whole arrangement than tell you to "call for a chat". The only thing we discuss in person is the number itself.
Your rate is confirmed at the free home visit — with nothing to sign on the day.
- One clear hourly rate, agreed in writing before any care starts.
- A 30-minute minimum visit — our minimum, not our default.
- No travel charge.
- No assessment or set-up fee.
- No minimum contract and no notice penalty — change or stop whenever you need to.
- Itemised invoices, so you see exactly what was delivered and when.
- Your rate confirmed at the free home visit, with nothing to sign on the day.
Honest about scope
Where we stand with the CQC
Arkand Care Ltd is registered at Companies House in England and Wales (no. 17291178). We are not registered with the Care Quality Commission, and we do not provide personal care.
Companionship, help around the home, shopping, simple meal preparation and accompanied outings are not regulated activities, and we provide them today. Washing, dressing and medication are regulated, and we will not offer them until we are registered to.
We would rather tell you what we cannot do than be vague about what we can.

Personal care, dementia support, medication support and night care are regulated services. We will offer them once the Care Quality Commission has registered us, and not before.
